Sharing all the details of our cozy breakfast/dining nook and the inspiration behind it.
Do y’all remember senior memory books? Do they still do those? I remember writing in mine that my dream home was a cottage. I think this dream came directly from my love of the movie Matilda. When we purchased our new, very old home built in the 1940s, it was one of those full circle moments and mission make it my dream cottage was underway! So thankful Austin gives me full creative reign.
Here’s what the space looked like before.
We started by painting the walls and built in cabinets (and by we, I mean we hired it out).
For the white on the upper cabinets and walls, we chose Simply White by Benjamin Moore. The lower cabinets are a soft sage green - the color is Clary Sage by Sherwin Williams. Paint is the easiest way to transform and brighten up a space!
We chose to carry the backsplash and quartz counters from the kitchen over to this space as well. The layout is a little choppy so this makes the spaces feel more cohesive.
The backsplash is from Floor and Decor - here’s the link:
Counters are quartz. We plan (God’s laughing) to stay here forever, so we wanted something durable.
Hardware is basic champagne gold pulls and knobs from Wayfair and linked here.
The wallpaper is peel and stick and was so easy once I got the hang of it - such a statement!
All furniture details, rug, wallpaper, lighting, artwork, and accessories are linked here.
Here’s a few more shots of the space.
I am currently stalking the local market place for the perfect China to fill the cabinets, so ignore the empty shelves for now.
Let me know if you have any questions or what you’d like to see next!
Hope you enjoyed this transformation! As always, thank you for the continued support.
